No one can decide for you, but all we have is to teach you the “How”

In this guide I’m showing you the “How” actually, what do you need to look for, Pros and cons, what to avoid.

You can jump to the conclusion of this guide through the index above or on the left, but I would recommend reading it through.

Ready? Let’s go.

How Actually You Can Pick The Best 2 Burner Gas Grill For You?

There are dozens of gas grills out there, probably you’re asking yourself how the hell I supposed to pick one?! Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. In this section, I’m going to tell you what to consider when buying a 2 burner gas grill.

Material

One of the best advantages of gas grills is that they last longer.

And the grill material is the most significant factor that defines the quality and performance of the grill and how long it’s gonna last.

Every gas grill is made of a combination of different materials for its different parts. Let’s start with:

1 – The Grill Grates

Grates -also known as grids- are simply the cooking surface of the grill.

There are many grates materials, every one of them has pros and cons.

The Hard-Anodized Aluminum GrillGrates

Grill Grates

If we are going to talk about the best performance, then we have a winner!

Man, these things are great! Some people call them the best thing that ever happened to grilling.

They make the grill run hotter, keep the heat, evenly distribute it, MASSIVELY decrease the flare-ups and hot/cold spots, and they do leave really great sear marks.

Definitely worth the extra dollars if you are an enthusiast who’s looking for the best performance. A great alternative to the infrared burners system.

The only disadvantage is that you will need a bit extra effort to clean it but still not the hardest.

Note: no gas grill comes with the GrillGrates, it’s a separate upgrade product.

Cast Iro0n

It’s a great option in terms of getting hot and holding the heat, evenly cooking. Leave good-looking searing marks. But it MUST be seasoned with cooking oil after using it to keep it from rusting.

Porcelain-Coated Cast Iron

If you won’t upgrade to the GrillGrates, then the Porcelain-Coated Cast Iron is my recommendation. They combine the benefits of the cast iron, but with no worries about the rusting thing, also they’re easy to clean, leave good searing marks, last for a long time.
Rule of thumb: the heavier, the better.

Stainless Steel

It’s the easiest to clean, less likely to rust so it could last for a long time, some of them come with a life-time warranty, yet the most expensive, not so good in terms of heat retention and searing meat, also you may face some flare-ups.

Porcelain-Coated Steel

They may be a good and quite affordable choice, but the Porcelain layer does chip over time, they can give you a good performance, but you will need to replace them sooner. However, the Porcelain-coated steel grates are the least acceptable quality I would recommend to you.

What Grates To Avoid?

Chrome-Plated And Regular Steel Grates

Pretty affordable, but They’re thin, hard to clean, more likely to get all rusty.

Stamped Sheet Metal Grates

The least quality. Believe me, you don’t wanna cook your meal on one of those.

2 – The Grill Burner

The burners are the second most crucial factor that defines the “how long” of your grill.
We have 3 main materials here.

Infrared System Burners – My Recommendation.

It’s not an actual burners material, the actual burners are usually made from stainless steel.
– Then what is the infrared system then?
It’s a plate between the actual burner and the grates with many tiny holes. The plate absorbs the heat then converts it to infrared radiation.
If you remember some of your high school science, infrared radiation is electromagnetic waves that travel as fast as light in ANY direction. Which makes the Infrared system cooks much faster, more evenly distributed of the heat. This means that there won’t be any cold or hot spots, cut flare-ups, doesn’t need to be upgraded to the GrillGrates.

Stainless Steel Burners

If we’re gonna talk about which last longer, then the stainless steel burners do last longer, and are easier to clean. But not the best performance.

Cast Iron Burner

They perform BETTER than the stainless steel ones, they get hotter, hold the heat better. But tend to rust over time and require some more effort to clean.

3 -The Grill Finish (Body – Lid – Firebox, Etc.)

Well, I’m gonna be fast at this. It doesn’t make much of a difference.
However, stainless steel tends to last longer, but there is almost no grill that is made of 100% stainless steel.

Cooking Space

The cooking space is the second factor you should look at. It’s not a very critical point in your grill. The cooking space affects the time it takes to finish cooking the meal, of course, if you can cook 15 burgers at the time then you’re gonna finish faster than cooking 12 only. So you can host more people. It’s as simple as that.

Size And Weight

This factor doesn’t concern all people. But if you don’t have many places to grill or you’re planning to grill on the balcony for example, or even you intend to go grilling on a trip to the beach, then you should think about it more carefully, knowing that it may affect the overall performance of the grill. A smaller grill tends to perform less than a bigger one.

Assembly And Maintenance

Some grills are harder and more complex to assemble. In the recommendation section of this guide, I will consider that for you and tell you if any grill needs more effort to assemble and maintain.

Does It Have A Warming Rack?

Having a warm rack gives you more options for cooking different kinds of meat and veggies like corn or potatoes. It also gives you the ability to use different cooking techniques, like searing the meat first and then letting it cook slowly. And if you want to give some sauce to the meat or ribs, then the warming rack is perfect for it that it won’t burn your sauce or anything like this.

Side Burner?

As having a warm rack, side burners give you some more features. It’s like you have a stove with your grill. You can use it to prepare the sauce and other side dishes, and you may use it if you don’t have a warming rack.

Natural Gas Or Liquid Propane?

This is more of a note for you to make sure what is the type you’re buying. Many people don’t notice that they’re buying the natural gas version while they are looking for a liquid propane one.
And in case you don’t know, some grills give you the ability to convert it from liquid propane to the natural gas source back and forth. You can do so with a special kit you can buy separately.

Cost

Gas grills are considered a long-term investment and they are really worth investing in. But at the end of the day we are all trying to get the best value for our budget. Use the tips you’ve just read to pick the best option within your budget.

However, in the next few lines, I’m going to recommend you 5 different grills for all budgets, so whatever your budget is you will find a standing out option that suits your needs and budget.

And here we go, now you perfectly understood how to choose the best 2 burner gas grill and what to consider.
Now is the time you are waiting for. Let’s take a look and evaluate some of the best 2 burner gas grills based on all of the points we’ve talked about in the last section.

4- Char-Broil Classic 280 – 2 Burner Gas Grill.

See Customer Owner Feedback >>

Char-Broil Classic 280 is the one that managed to take the “most affordable”  prize and the Classic 360 his brother in the same family has won the same prize on our best 3 burner gas grills guide and of course it doesn’t need to be explained why

But it does need to list the key features and its Pros/Cons.

Description And Key Features:

The Char-Broil Classic 280 is all made from Porcelain-Coated Steel – comes with two styles, one with a 8,000 BTU side burner and another without – it has a capability of producing 20,000 BTUs of heat through the main burners – 280 square inches total cooking surface that measures 20-inches wide x 14-inches deep – dimensions of 16.9 x 26 x 17.7 inches.

Pros

  • Doesn’t take much space.
  • Good looking.
  • Side burner version.
  • 5-year burner warranty.

Cons

  • Doesn’t last long because of its modest material – more likely to get rusty over time.
  • Despite its small size but many people reported that it’s not easy to put together.
  • Doesn’t have any plate to place the LP tank.
  • Some people reported shipping troubles like bent parts or a wrong model.
  • No warming rack and has no thermometer in the lid.

Comment – Buy It If You’re:

Not looking for a long-term durable or if you don’t host many grilling parties. If you don’t have much space to place the grill, then it’s perfect for you (but consider taking a look at the next one).

As I said some people complained that it’s difficult to assemble, so you may consider getting one of those expert-assembly things, but if you tend to pay the 70 more bucks to get that, then I think you may consider buying the MASTER COOK Professional instead (the second in the list).

5 – Cuisinart CGG-306 Chef’s Style Stainless Tabletop Grill

Check Price & Availability

See Customer Owner Feedback >>

I think it’s obvious why Cuisinart’s CGG-306 is on the list.

I know that you maybe weren’t looking for a tabletop one when you searched about the best 2 burner gas grill, but believe me, it’s worth considering. It’s gonna be fast this time

The CGG-306 comes with 2 stainless steel burners producing 10,000 BTUs each – measure 21.5 x 19 x 15 inches dimensions – 275 inches of cooking space – Requires a 20 lbs Propane tank.

Comment:

Why there are no items in the Cons list?

Actually I was going to write that it’s not very durable and not for heavy usage, etc. But isn’t that obvious from the first look?! This grill is made for those who wanna go grilling by the beach or while they’re camping.

Obviously those people who wrote bad reviews for the CGG-306 were expecting too much for a little cute portable grill.

It is designed perfectly for a camping trip or light use. Intend for something else? Then DON’T!

Pros

  • Super portable as you see – weights only 22 lbs
  • Foldable legs.
  • All are made from stainless steel.
  • Suitable for larger cuts of meat.
  • No assembly is required.

Cons

  • Eh, I don’t know.
  • Let’s discuss this in the comment.

Conclusion:

That was my list of recommendations for the best 2 burner gas grill position I tried so hard to be as objective and honest as I can, I really did.

The Char-Broil Signature TRU-Infrared 325 wins! Why? Remember when I told you what to look for when buying a 2 burner gas grill? I said the grill material is the most significant factor that defines the quality of your grill.

Well, the char-broil’s Signature 325 combined the main 2 material recommendations, which are the infrared system and the porcelain-coated cast-iron grates. I can talk all day about this perfect performance combination.

But, If you don’t like it for any reason or it’s too expensive for you. I would strongly recommend you to consider buying one of MASTER COOK Professional OR Weber’s 44010001 Spirit II E-210 and upgrade to the GrillGrates™ incredible grates. As I told you, it’s a great alternative to the infrared system and gives you similar performance.
